Celeste Chapter 9: Farewell Release Date Announced

Announced via a blog post on the team’s new studio website, Celeste Chapter 9: Farewell will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Switch on Monday, September 9, 2019 for free as an update.

Featuring over 100 new levels as well as 40 minutes of new music from award-winning composer Lena Raine (@kuraine), Celeste Chapter 9: Farewell will feature “several brand new mechanics and items to discover and play with” according to designer Matt Thorson (@MattThorson).

To play the new content players will simply need to have completed Chapter 8 in the main game. Thorson says that the Xbox One update may miss the September 9 release date due to porting difficulties but if that happens it will release shortly afterwards.

The release of the new content also means that the Limited Run Games physical copies of Celeste will now be manufactured, having previously been delayed to ensure the new content ends up on the discs and carts.
