Alto's Adventure Out Now On Mac

Alto’s Adventure has been released on Mac, which you can pick up right here for $9.99 USD. Snowman’s founder Ryan Cash let me know via email that this was planned for a while:

“Ever since we launched the game on iOS we’d always wanted to do a Mac version, and we’d actually begun working on it a long time ago. We kind of got tied up with the tvOS version when that launched, and then of course, Alto’s Odyssey. When Apple announced the new Mac App Store at WWDC this year we knew it was time to dust off the code and bring it to the finish line.”

Alto's Adventure is an endless snowboarding odyssey, set against a beautiful and ever changing alpine landscape. App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/altos... Alto's Adventure Updated For iPhone X

Our friends over at Snowman released an update for their indie hit Alto's Adventure that takes advantage of the iPhone X's shiny new screen.

"We’ve updated Alto’s Adventureto take advantage of the new screen on day one. With more of the mountain in view than ever, we really feel like this is the premiere way to experience the game"

You can download the game on iOS right here, while we wait for Alto's Odyseey, Where Cards Fall, and Skate City.

Alto's Odyssey Gets A Teaser Trailer - Coming Later This Year

To celebrate the second anniversary of Alto's Adventure, Snowman was kind enough to give us a Alto's Odyssey teaser trailer which you can check out below:

But ultimately, in these last two years, nothing has been more humbling for us than to see fans connect with Alto and friends the way they have. From kind emails and social media messages telling us how the game has helped people discover play, or cope with anxiety, to gorgeous fan art beyond our wildest expectations, your reaction has been the greatest gift of all.

Today, that celebration continues. Rather than look back, though, we think it’s time to look forward to the horizon. And to the odyssey that awaits.

The teaser trailer confirms what we've discussed on the podcast before, Alto's Odyssey is scheduled for release this summer. Along with Where Cards Fall coming in the Fall, players will have lots of Snowman content in the later half of the year.

Built By Snowman Announces Skate City For Mobile

Toronto developer Built By Snowman is still at it. After announcing Alto's Odyssey late last year, they have also announced Skate City, a game they are working on with Norway developer Agnes. You can check out the teaser trailer below.

Your perfect ride. Worldwide. A brand new skateboarding game crafted by Agens and Snowman, coming to iOS & Android. See exclusive in-game footage at http://instagram.com/skatecitygame. Sign up to get notified at launch: http://www.skatecitygame.com A big thanks to Erik Norderval (https://soundcloud.com/peersynth) for the music, and Joe Pease (https://vimeo.com/joepease) for his awesome work on the trailer!

Snowman says they are trying something a little different with Skate City, and we'll have to wait a bit longer for more info. The game is expected to hit Android and iOS.

Snowman and Slingshot & Satchel Announce DISTANT

Alto's Adventure's developer Snowman have announced another partnership (readers may remember they have Where Cards Fall in the works).  They've announced a new partnership with Slingshot & Satchel and released a trailer for their first game: DISTANT.

A wondrous voyage through pastel dreamscapes. www.builtbysnowman.com/distant

DISTANT takes you on a wondrous voyage through pastel dreamscapes, to prevent a calamity from consuming the world you once knew. Along the way, you’ll confront an inescapable past, and learn how much you're willing to sacrifice in your search for solace.

DISTANT will be coming to PC, Mac, Consoles, and Apple TV, though we'll have to wait a little longer for a release timeframe, and price.  In the meantime, you can check out the official Alto's Adventure Store and pick up some swag for the holidays.

Alto's Adventure, and Sword & Sworcery Part Of Apple’s “Indie Gems” Sale

Quick heads up, but a couple of Toronto games currently have some massive discounts on the iOS store with Apple throwing a "Indie Gems" Sale.

You can check out the full details here since there are lot of great games on sale, but the games Toronto gamers should be focused on are Alto's Adventure from Snowman, and Sword & Sorcery from Capybara Games.

Alto's Adventure Updated On iOS - Now Includes Haptic Feedback

Developer Snowman let me know that Alto's Adventure, the game that keeps on giving, has been updated to take advantage of iPhone 7's Haptic Feedback.

Thanks to the expanded Taptic Engine, we’ve been able to pinpoint exciting moments in a run and tie them to more precise vibrational feedback. Now, you’ll feel a nice jolt of satisfaction upon collecting a wayward llama or sliding over an ice boost. The golden burst of a super coin or powdery landing of a huge combo will hopefully be a little more thrilling.
We’ve even tried to give some consideration to calmer moments: reaching minumum & maximum zoom or snapping the perfect shot in Photo Mode will vibrate like a real camera, immersing you in the joys of being your own mountain photographer. The list goes on, but rather than spoil it all, we’re excited for players to stumble onto each new interaction and find their favourite ones.

You can pick up Alto's Adventure on iOS, if you already own the game the update is a free patch. While players enjoy the free content, we're still waiting to see more on Where Cards Fall from Snowman, and The Game Band.

Alto's Adventure Course Arrives In Stickman Golf 3

The gang over at Snowman is at it again, this time next year it's possible Alto's Adventure has taken over the world.  You can download and play Alto's Ridge, a level based on Alto's Adventure in Stickman Golf 3.

"But then we decided to bring something familiar to the world of SSG3. After becoming close with the team at Snowman while helping out with the Alto’s Android release, we thought it would be really cool too bring their beautiful designs to the Super Stickman Golf world.
Not unlike the Super Meat Boy course from SSG2, “Alto’s Ridge” brings in the gorgeous design work the game is famous for, along with some unique new ways to explore the artwork from the game."
AltosAdventure

You can download the level in Stickman Golf 3, but it does require the premium version of the app, which you can download here. While you're at it, make sure to pick up Alto's Adventure as well!
