NVYVE Studios Release New Trailer For P.A.M.E.L.A Announces Steam Early Access Release Date

P.A.M.E.L.A will be releasing on Steam Early Access March 9th. The first person survival horror game has been getting comparisons to Bioshock - partly because P.A.M.E.L.A takes place it a fallen Utopian city of its own - Eden. Nvyve Studios made the announcement earlier this month.

Play as a Sleeper, awoken from cryosleep in Eden, a fallen utopia wrought with death and danger. Utilize a wide range of hi-tech weapons, equipment, and build-able items that can be upgraded to suit your needs. Meet PAMELA, an omnipresent AI overseer who is left alone watching over the once-vibrant city, now reduced to a silent monolith gliding across the ocean.

You can check out the full trailer below, while also checking out the Steam page for the game here. According to the Steam page, NVYVE Studios is expecting P.A.M.E.L.A to be in early access for 6-9 months.

Developer NVYVE Studios released a new trailer for their open world survival horror game P.A.M.E.L.A.  The trailer shows gameplay with Pamela (I'm assuming) talking about how shitty everything has become.

Dev Blog for Character Control In P.A.M.E.L.A

Ian over at NVYVE Studios posted a new developers blog about their upcoming game, P.A.M.E.L.A.  In it, he writes about the characters movement and speed, as well as jumping around the world:

"For our character motor we decided to use Unity’s Character Controller component in combination with some custom physics scripting. One thing to keep in mind when working with physics is that each functionality you add can affect the rest of your movement. There would be times when I would think I had solved small ledge detection issues, only to find that the fix had caused some rather comical “I must go, my people need me” kind of jumping. Suffice to say, small ledges were my nemesis for quite some time."

Ian also showed some video footage of character movement, and says the blog post might be useful for anyone working on character control.

Pamela Make It Onto Kotaku "A Horror Game That Looks Straight out of Mass Effect"

Just browsing the internet this morning, and saw that Kotaku ran a small piece of Pamela, the PC Horror game inspired by Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect from NVYVE Studios.

"Pamela is an upcoming PC game that looks pretty striking for something that’s supposed to be a survival horror game. No gross, gritty environments that are so typical of the genre to be found here!

Instead, the futuristic setting looks way more utopian—which makes the premise of exploring a dead civilization seem all the more enticing. According to the developers, the game tasks you with scavenging and surviving your way through “Eden,” and doing so will require the use of advanced toys and equipment that would look right at home in Mass Effect."

Very cool, make sure to check out the article here, and follow NVYVE on twitter here.
