Fan Expo Canada - Metro Toronto Convention Center

Fan Expo is on of the bigger events to come to Toronto, I figured I would post what it is from their FAQ.

“The Expo,” as it has become known, is a playground for people of all ages who are interested in any, or all, of the 5 genres Fan Expo Canada has to offer.  Each event has its own schedule of activities unique to its industry (schedules will be made available under each event) including, but not limited to; gaming tournaments, question and answer sessions with the hottest guests in their industry, artists competition (“Sketching Duels”), workshops like special effects/make-up, portfolio reviews, a masquerade (where people dress up as their favourite character) and much more!  If that isn’t enough for your senses, there are also exhibits from major companies showcasing their latest products and the largest retailer area of its kind where you can buy that limited edition item or that something special you’ve always wanted."

You can keep up to date with the gaming aspect here.

Stage Select Gaming Expo

Stage Select is a gaming expo that will have a wide range of studios and talents. There will also be a Keynote speech from Tanya Short

Standard Admission Fee: $25 – Purchase online and at selected retailers. Cash at door: $30 Child: $5 – Children 7-12 Ticket processor fees may apply

Toronto is a bustling city full of events. There are many conventions that focus on anime, comics, media and other hobbies but we feel that there is no event like Stage Select in this region. We are creating an environment for gamers, developers, educators and enthusiasts to come together to celebrate this shared passion for gaming. To find something like Stage Select, the closest comparable event would be in the United States.

A unique, inclusive, and exciting environment for gamers, developers and enthusiasts of all types.

Stage Select is an inclusive fandom event where visitors can choose from an array of events that will cater to their different areas of interest. No two games are exactly alike and gamers thrive on this diversity in playing options. The kind of events are included, but not limited to: table-top gaming, LARP’ing and cosplaying. There will be something for everyone to come and see and play.

Our philosophy. We want our celebrity game developer guests to have the ability to interact with their fans and so we encourage them to mingle and not be chained to their booth all day. We reach out to game developers, artists, and industry leaders to share their skills with the public to educate, refine ideas, and to give them exposure to new audiences.

You can check out the full site here, and make sure to follow them on Twitter.
