Gunhead Announced - FPS Sequel To Cryptark

Talk about unexpected, despite announcing a game just a few weeks ago Alientrap is at it again, this time announcing Gunhead, a direct sequel to its rogue-like shooter Cryptark.  However Gunhead is a first-person shooter, where you'll still enter procedurally generated ships to neutralize them with the story taking place right after Cryptark.

Gunhead will be out on Steam next year, so make sure to add the game to your Steam page. Cryptark also came out on PlayStation 4, so hopefully we'll see its sequel make the console jump as well. In the meantime, make sure to check out the developers on Twitter.

Cryptark Out Now On PlayStation 4

Released last week on Steam, the sci-fi twin stick shooter was delayed for a week on PS4 and was released today. You can pick it up on the PlayStation store right now.

Available June 20th on Steam, June 27th on PS4 Cryptark is a 2D sci-fi shooter where you take on the role of a heavily armed privateer seeking to earn government contracts by boarding deadly alien space-hulks. It's up to you to strategize a plan of attack, pick an equipment loadout, and destroy the central core to be victorious.

Cryptark Coming To PlayStation 4 June 20th

It was released on Steam almost two years ago, and then announced for PlayStation 4 a few days later, but now Alientrap's 2D Sci-fi Roguelike shooter Cryptark is coming to PlayStation 4 later this month on June 20th. Creative Director at Alientrap Jesse McGibney took to the PlayStation Blog to talk a little bit about the game:

In Cryptark, making money by scrapping spacecraft is the name of the game! You and your motley crew of mercenary privateers will have to blast into heavily defended alien derelicts, survive waves of cyber-skeleton attack drones, and surgically pick apart security systems with strategy and absurdly weaponized mech-suits (all while staying within budget, of course)!

What Did TorontoGameDevs.com Patreons Get In October?

I made a post back in September advertising what Patreon's got in September, and now it's time to go over what they got in October.

The biggest change, is starting with Episode 10, all podcasts will be available a day earlier. Patreon's will get it Sunday night (or earlier if we record earlier), while everyone else gets them Monday.  This is for all podcasts going forward, it's only 3 dollars a month to get them early.

For interviews I got the chance to interview independent developer Meagan Byrne about her game Wanisinowin|Lost.

I was also able to give some codes of Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition from DrinkBox Studios, and Cryptark from Alientrap.

Cryptark Out Now On Steam Also Coming To PS4

As announced earlier in the week, Cryptark is out now on Steam Early Access.  Click here to check out their Steam page and buy the game, which has a 15% discount during launch week.

Also announced today was Alientrap will be bringing the game to PlayStation 4.  Jesse McGibney took to the PlayStation Blog to make the announcement as well as explain the game with a trailer (which I think is the same trailer as a few days ago):

2D Roguelike Shooter Cryptark Out On Steam October 7th

Independent developer Alientrap announced today that their Rougelike sci-fi shooter Cryptark is out on Steam October 7th (this Wednesday!).  You can check out a full description and trailer of the game below. I got a chance to play Cryptark at Bit Bazaar earlier this and it's a lot of fun, with a cool art style.

Cryptark is a 2D roguelike shooter that challenges players with boarding and neutralizing procedurally generated alien starships to earn income for their Privateering enterprise. Purchase improved equipment and weapons to tackle more dangerous targets, but be cautious as failure will result in a loss of investment and profit. The decaying alien arks will defend themselves from intruders with a wide arsenal of cyborg monstrosities, robotics, and security systems, all obstacles that must be surpassed to achieve victory, the destruction of the ship’s central System Core.

Indie developer had just released Apotheon on PS4 and PC earlier this year, and they've been busy working on their next game Cryptark, which they'll be showing at Bit Bazaar.
